On July 11, 2021, family and friends held a memorial for Hesh/Hash Halper, an artist based in New York City who went by the moniker, New York Romantic. Halper adorned streets and walls with messages on love, peace, and dreams, and perhaps most notably, hundreds of thousands of colorful chalk hearts. Halper passed away in NYC on June 11, 2021.
